Lake Weed Treatments
On July 12th the DNR announced that Lake Mendota is still not ready to be sprayed. This is due in part because of the high water levels and the cool weather that we have been experiencing.
A TENTATIVE TREATMENT DATE OF WEDNESDAY, JULY 21ST HAS BEEN SET. Your signs must be up and your property marked in order to be treated. Please tell your neighbors about this date.
Lake Monona was treated on July 7th. There were about 30 homes that were not treated because of high water. These properties will be treated at the same time as Lake Mendota. At that time we will also do a touch-up treatment of any homes that were missed because signs were missing. Your signs must be up and your property marked in order to be treated. Please tell your neighbors about this date.
Lake Waubesa has been treated twice.
Remember, it takes about 10 to 14 days for the weeds to die after treatment. Some plants that are protected by the DNR will not die as a result of this treatment.
